Danbury Grows

Danbury Grows is a small grassroots group in central NH dedicated to the support of its local farms & farmers and to encouraging its neighbors to reengage with the skills, knowledge & activities of our agricultural past to help reinvigorate a communal future. The group’s members work on a variety of projects, including introducing our elementary school students to growing flowers and vegetables, tending a number of demonstration gardens around town to eat & learn from, and creating an inventory of apple trees successfully grown in Danbury in the past (with an eye toward growing them again). Danbury Grows is also dedicated to uncovering seeds of favorite old New England heirlooms and making them available more widely or once again.

Length of frost-free growing season (optional): c. 120 days (late May through late September)
