Tuscarora White is an 8-row flour corn, brought up to New York State from North Carolina by the Tuscarora Tribe as they joined the Iroquois (Haudenosaune) Confederation. It is great for hominy/pozole as it puffs up quite a bit during nixtamalizing, and also makes good mild grits. Typically grows just one ear per plant, plants reach about 5-7 feet tall. I haven't kept good silking/tasselling info yet but it safely matured in my climate (upstate NY).
